Jagat Taran Girls’ Inter College was founded by Major Baman Das Basu & Babu Chintamani Ghosh in 1919. The college is run by Jagat Taran Education society which comprises social thinkers and philanthropists. It is very centrally located near Anand Bhawan the well-known residence of the Nehru family, Jagat Taran Girls' Inter College is easily accessible by local means of transport. It has a spacious campus and infrastructure with all the modern facilities. It is one of the oldest schools in Prayagraj with more than thousand enrolled students. Jagat Taran Girls' Inter College is essentially a day school. Under the dynamic leadership of its Principal (Dr. Nandini Tiwari) The school is consistently maintaining its high standards & going from strength to strength. The school is committed to the education of the girl child and this tradition which began in 1919 is continuing till date. Academically the institution is well-equipped for providing all the facilities required for the students. The school has state-of-the-art Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories which cater to the needs and demands of the students who have opted for science stream. The school has implemented all the govt. Policies like providing free books, uniforms upto class VIII and scholarships provided by Government for the benefits of students.
Jagat Taran Girls' Inter College imparts vocational education at plus two levels and students are trained in textile design, dress design, baking & confectionery, which generates self employment opportunities for the students.Our college also offers education in English medium from class VI to XII.
